If you go up Dead Indian Memorial Road into the Cascades you'll see these great dry hills with oak trees. I had a good painting day when I made this - I planned ahead and worked with the paint. When I got it out of the outdoor light, the colors looked strange though. So many more paintings to go before I'm juggling knives while riding a unicycle on the tightrope blindfolded.

I second that! And know just where that curve is. In the winter the hills across the ravine to the right look oriental in the fog. Love that drive.
